Murder Mystery Fundraisers
“Dinners to Die For” is a fundraising program that aims to provide the community with local recreational opportunities, strengthen community connections, and support local businesses - all while raising funds for our other Role-Playing programs!
Each dinner is a ticketed event that you can sign up for by following the instructions below. Attendees should anticipate 2-3 hours of dinner, games, and intrigue. Food is available at each event. Each mystery dinner will have its own theme, and guests are welcome to dress for the theme if desired. Characters are usually assigned upon arrival to help ensure that everyone has the best time possible. Character and meal ticket price may vary by event. Mystery at the Museum!
The local museum is holding a public exhibition of wax figures, to show kids what Genghis Khan, Amelia Earhart, and other historical characters looked like. What the public doesn’t see is that the characters come to life every evening and party until dawn, when they turn back to statues. It’s all due to the ancient ‘Wand of Vitality” that is also on display.
One night, the party is interrupted by a blackout. When the dim emergency lights come on, there are sudden screams. “The Wand is missing from its case! Someone hid it so only they can use it! If it isn’t back by dawn, the rest of us are doomed to be statues forever!”
Whodunit? Was it someone who wanted to create new armies? Someone who wanted to go out into the world and do more of what made them famous? Someone who wanted to sell it for a fortune? Or maybe it was—YOU!
Event Details
This mystery dinner is special because it is our first Dinner to Die For that is family friendly! The mystery is designed for all ages, and participants can either play the character themselves or have friends or parents help them turn up clues. Facilitators will be on hand to guide guests through the experience, and meal tickets are sold separately to ensure that no matter who is playing a character, everyone can have access to food. We are also excited to partner with the Putnam County Museum for this event, and the event will occur at their location at 1105 N Jackson St, Greencastle, IN 46135.
The Putnam County Museum is a wonderful facility dedicated to collecting, preserving, and interpreting the natural, historical and cultural heritage of the Putnam County, Indiana. In addition to this incredible event, they also host a number of other events throughout the year and are an excellent resource for learning more about the surrounding area. Join us as a historical figure come to life at the local museum! Each ticket includes one character role, assigned at arrival the day of the event. Participants will be attempting to unravel the mystery of who stole the “Wand of Vitality”, a magical artifact that brings the historical wax figures to life each night. If the characters can’t find the culprit in time, they may all be doomed to be wax figures forever!
Come prepared to play as characters like Issac Newton, Amelia Earhart, Genghis Kahn, and more! Costume props will be available on site. Meal tickets are sold separately so that multiple people can help perform a character and still have access to food options. Please arrive to the location at 10 minutes before the listed start time.
Solving Mysteries is hard work, don’t miss out on the chance to grab some eats from our caterer while you’re here! Meal tickets are one-per-person and include access to a line-up of buffet-style food options that allow everyone to walk around and uncover the thief while still enjoying their food.
