What We Do

We at the Putnam County Gaming Initiative develop and implement programs that are designed to build community, promote healthy social engagement, and explore the extensive benefits associated with acts of gaming and entertainment. Part of this process includes our three-model approach that regards tabletop games, video games, and sports in equal measure. We are always working to build our community and develop helpful new initiatives so be sure to sign up for our newsletter to stay in the loop!

  • Many of our current services focus on utilizing the shared interest of gaming to provide the community with neutral, safe, and accepting gatherings that promote interpersonal connections.

Additional resources to support community formation and academic exploration of gaming are also in development!

  • The Putnam County Gaming Initiative is here to help our community members navigate the wide field of gaming, maximizing its benefits. This includes aiding in the cultivation of social skills, assisting the improvement of cognitive function, and supporting the development of motor skills.

  • You can now find us sharing a space with our close community partners, Storming Good Games! You can find us there almost every Friday and Saturday for our regular game night programs, attend any of our other community events, or reach out to use directly!

How We Do It

We pursue our mission through a number of local programs, including weekly community game nights, outdoor recreation opportunities for families, and entertainment events focused on supporting local businesses. Our fundraising event series also provide the community with small income opportunities while promoting quality of life, economic growth, and more. Additional details on our program and event series can be found on our “Programs” page, and we will soon have all of our upcoming events under our “Schedule” page in the navigation bar. Until then, you can find more details about upcoming events on our Facebook events page, or through our posts.

Our Mission

Gaming can be an amazing tool to create social connections, develop personal skills, and so much more! Our goal at the Putnam County Gaming Initiative is to provide the local community with opportunities that allow them to make the most out of their gaming experience. This includes promoting conscious and thoughtful engagement, enabling intergenerational interactions, and eventually promoting research that explores the relationship of gaming and cognitive development.

More than anything we seek to promote the development of a healthy, supportive community that enriches the lives of our participants. We hope you can be apart of that community!

Gaming Groups

Our Gaming Groups program provides weekly meetings where community members can gather to play games. Our inventory of games is free to play at each meeting and attendees are always welcome to bring their own games. All meetings are open to the public. Meeting times and locations can be found under the “Programs” section of the website.

TTRPG Tables
